The
COTERO FOUNDATION
has been created in the memory of excellent ophthalmologists Mr.
José Fernández del Cotero and his son Jesus who dedicated
their life and work to ophthalmology.
The foundation J. Fernández del Cotero is a charitable-cultural
organization associated to Science and Education Ministry dedicated
to scientific investigation and health assistance. This charity
association tries to solve the specific visual problem for those
who can’t afford to pay for it.
They also award grants and prizes to ophthalmological investigations,
in order to prepare doctors, ophthalmologists, optometrists and
etc, and in obtaining the most updated diagnostic and surgical techniques.
It also finances, advertises and introduces the
Cantabrian
Institute of Ophthalmology, the Eye
Bank, Campaigns of School Visual Prevention in Cantabria
and Campaigns of Ophthalmological Assistance in the third World.
